Cadence Rides
Social road rides with a steady pace and no drop group riding.
Ride. Coffee. Pause.
Cadence is our Sunday ride. Steady miles, then back to the workshop for coffee and a proper pause. It’s a no-drop social road ride with clear regroups and a friendly pace.
Start and finish is Port Velo Cycle Works in Portbury, making this an easy, consistent group ride Portishead / Portbury riders can join week to week.

- No-drop approach with regular regroups
- Steady pace and good group riding
- Road-focused route (gravel bikes welcome if you’re happy on tarmac)
- Finish back at the workshop for a proper pause
Route details
Routes and timings can vary week to week. Full details are always posted on Strava.
Sign-up / RSVP
To keep rides organised and safe, we ask riders to join the Strava club and RSVP in advance so we have a rough idea on numbers.
New members may need approval to join. This helps us keep the group well managed.
If you don’t use Strava, ask in the workshop and we’ll point you to the next ride.
FAQs
Is Cadence no-drop?
Yes. We regroup and ride as a group. Nobody gets left behind.
Is this a fast ride?
It’s steady rather than fast. The aim is good miles, good company, and finishing together.
What should I bring?
Helmet, spare tube/repair kit, pump/CO₂, a drink, and a way to pay for a coffee afterwards.
Do you stop mid-ride?
It depends on the route. Longer rides may include a café stop, but it isn’t guaranteed.
Where do you start?
Port Velo Cycle Works, Portbury.
Before you roll
If your bike needs a quick check before you join (tyres, brakes, gears, contact points), book in with the workshop and we’ll get you set up properly.
